For once, we want to share with you something personal. When we first started working in “sports law”, we felt lost.

On one side, we had studied law and EU law - but we quickly realized that contracts, disputes, and regulations in sport were nothing like what we had learned in university.

On the other side, the economic models and financial structures of clubs and leagues were completely different from “ordinary” businesses. And when geopolitics came into play - global power games influencing economic and sporting competitions - we understood we were missing a whole dimension.

At the time, there was no courses that could prepare us. Now, you have plenty of them: universities, sport governing bodies’ programs, seminars, etc. They are either too academic, too expensive, or too far removed from the reality of the sector. None of them, in our humble view, provides you with the full set of tools you need.

As it was our case 35 years ago, many other professionals keep walking into this industry blindfolded.

Fast forward: 35 years later, we were asked to be Program Director and lecturers on the program we wish we had when we started. Not a theoretical course. Not something that ends up costing 15.000€ or more.
